Road Bike Tire Pressure 25mm
I m running schwalbe pro 1 25mm tubeless on my new road bike.
Road bike tire pressure 25mm. I weigh 119 lbs. There doesn t seem to be any performance loss and on rough roads speed is often faster because the wider tires absorb the bumps and roll over them with little loss of forward speed while in contrast narrow tires with high pressures bounce and retard speed. Road bike tyres are run at a higher pressure than mountain bike tyres to reduce rolling resistance and the chance of pinch flat punctures. Rolling resistance does vary slightly with tire pressure but it s not linear and it depends on the surface.
There was a time when most riders would opt for 23c tyres on the road pump the tyre pressure up to around 110psi for every ride letting out just a little air to provide extra grip in poor weather. A lot of riders are taking advantage ofthe increased comfort of wider tires. What pressures are appropriate for 28mm road bike tires. Road bike tyre pressures.
This is my first time tubeless. Suggested tyre pressure for road bike tyres 25mm for a 70kg rider. If your recommended tire pressure is near the maximum pressure rating for the rim we recommend moving up in tire volume. Road tires typically require 80 to 130 psi pounds.
90psi 6 2bar front 93psi 6 4bar rear. For example 90psi in a 25mm tire will feel the same as roughly 70 psi in a 28mm tire. On smooth surfaces like the one used in the tests shown above moderately high tire pressure say 100 110 psi for a 25 mm tire actually rolls slower than either a lower pressure 80 psi or a higher pressure 130 psi. Proper tire pressure lets your bike roll quickly ride smoothly and avoid flats narrow tires need more air pressure than wide ones.
Remember as tire size and therefore volume increase you can decrease tire pressure.
